Fire Department

Fire protection for the Town is provided by the Wise Volunteer Fire Department.  

The Fire Department is led by a paid Fire Chief appointed by the Wise Town Council.  The Fire Chief is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Fire Department.  The Fire Chief is also responsible for volunteer recruitment and certification.  Currently, there are approximately 32 volunteer firefighters who service a 65 square mile area of over 10,000 residents

The Department is proud to sponsor an Explorer’s Post whereby young adults are educated about fire service through organized training in the basic skills required to function safely and effectively at a fire scene.
