Comprehensive Plan

          Every locality is required by the Code of Virginia to develop and adopt a comprehensive plan for the territory under their jurisdiction. The 2022 Comprehensive Plan of the Town of Wise, Virginia was adopted on October 25th, 2022 and reflects the current conditions of the Town, new goals and objectives, and paints a picture of the vision for the future growth of the Town of Wise. Although this plan is a growing and living document, it sets a standard for the orderly growth of the Town and strengthens applications for various grant funding opportunities.

          Citizen input is the key to developing a well put-together plan. Numerous studies, surveys, input sessions, and meetings were conducted to help create this plan. This department encourages every citizen, business owner, and community stakeholder to take some time and read through this Comprehensive Plan and participate in future meetings when it is time to review and make updates.
